I should temporarily rename this blog “Crap I Drew with my new Samsung Galaxy Note 2” because seriously I paid an extra $200 over just getting the iPhone 4s so I could do this.   Though it is much more precise than an ipad with a stylus as the stylus is microchipped and pressure sensitive and super fancy (and $30 to replace if  when I lose it).

One of the things I don’t like about the phone is the way to take a screenshot SUCKS and it is horrible quality (everything is pixelated).  So I have made due with the talents of my fancy stylus and I cut everything and paste it into a s-note and then I can save it and it doesn’t look bad (usually) except on a black background you can tell it was a cut and paste. Oh well.

So here is my first post.

A pickle.

Oh well

Nothing is getting made. But if you read my other blog or you are a personal Facebook friend you know there is so much going on right now.
What I actually need to be doing is packing all my art stuff up. I have lots of painted canvases and I need to find an appropriately sized box for them.
I need to decide what should go and what is probably too old to ever be used again and therefore, should be thrown away.
We are going to move sooner than later and hopefully (99% sure) its going to be interstate.
So for now we are in a packing/holding pattern til details are ironed out and I don’t want to start on anything

Wedding Invitations

Oh my I finally finished them. It’s been 6 months since I first offered to make these invitations.
I got the design done and approved fairly quickly but didn’t start the work til after my birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years were all over. I knew it would be best to wait plus I’m a huge procrastinator and for a wedding in July I definitely had time.

The thing with these invitations is they are extra special. They are for my sister. Saying that is weird since I’m an only child.
What? Only child and a sister? Is she your best friend? Nope. I barely know her. She’s my sister by biology. My mom had her when she was 18 and gave her up for adoption. When my sister was 24 (and i was 16) she found my mom and reconnected.
Fast forward to the time of social networking and we were able to make a connection again.
Her being adopted is neither of our faults so we are just moving on with who we are now to be friends.
I’m so happy that she is getting remarried and it’s been an honor and a labor of love to make the invites for her.

Of course in completely relieved that I finally put them in the mail. I’m not so sure I will ever do more than maybe 25 invitations at once. 100 invitations and 100 response cards mostly by hand was a tedious process. I’m glad I did it though.

Art is a personal act of courage,
something one human does
that creates change in another

Momentum gives you a reason
to overcome your fear
and do your art

No risk, no art.  No art, no reward.

3 Rules for Raising Future Soccer Stars

•7 March 2012 • Leave a Comment

1. Do not change your future star’s diaper before or during halftime. Every one knows this is when you get drinks and go pee. Usually the 60th minute or right before the most important moment of the game will work best (the second part is especially true if at a game versus watching on tv

2. If changing aforementioned diaper at home make sure your future star can see the tv. This will make things much easier.

3. If rule 1 or 2 are not followed do NOT try to distract your future star with a golf ball. This will likely result in undue pain and suffering of your forehead.

Art Show

Completely accidentally I found out today that the local library is having an art show and sale AND it is free to enter.  So guess who is going to submit her work for consideration?

Now just to figure out which 3 pieces I want to submit.
